Saison 2020 – JR Racing & Bergstrom

Finally the time has come and I can present you my new project for the 2020 season. After four years in the U23 category I will now move up to the elite category. I used this change to go new ways and to build a team around me, together with my private sponsors and current or former material sponsors. Under the name JR Racing and with bikes from Thömus I will compete in the season 2020.

The renewed cooperation with the company Thömus is a great motivation for me and I’m very grateful for the support. Whoever has followed my latest articles on my social media has noticed that I started racing with Thömus and I’ve been riding with this bike brand up to the U23 category. Thanks to this support I was able to reach an international level. With the following team change to the UCI MTB Team of WHEELER our cooperation was interrupted for some years.

Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back, and reasons to stay.

Some of the reasons why I decided to go this way are, that I’ve enjoyed working with my sponsors since I started racing. Unfortunately, as a team rider, this was sometimes a little complicated and was not entirely satisfying for me. As my own team manager, I’ve the planning and advertising in my own hands. At the moment I’m still the only rider at JR Racing, but for me it’s not impossible that I will expand the team.

Those who have already looked at my new race schedule have noticed that I will also be racing some e-bike races. I have signed a contract with the e-bike brand BERGSTROM and will be competing in three to four e-bike races of the World E-Bike Series and the E-Bike World Championship in Albstadt. The idea of BERGSTROM was to race as an active XCO racer, also some E-XCO races. This idea convinced me immediately, and I believe that it’s important to always be up to date and this attitude also counts for me when trying out new racing formats.

Realize that now, in this moment of time, you are creating. You are creating your next moment. That is what’s real.

Despite this change, my focus will remain on the UCI MTB World Cup and Swiss Cup races. My ambitious goal for the future will be to ride in the top 25 of the World Cup in the elite category. At the moment I cannot yet define my goals for the e-bike races exactly. But if you know me, I will give everything at every race and so I will not ride the E-XCO World Championship just for fun.

Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal or ideal.
